You’ve only been pregnant a few days, but the new life inside you is already very active. An egg measuring about half a millimetre is the result of the encounter between a sperm cell and an ovum. After four days, this egg implants itself in your uterus and begins to develop very quickly.
At the end of the 3rd week, your future baby is no longer an egg; they have become an embryo and are firmly attached to the uterine wall.
At the end of the first month, your baby measures around 4 mm and is the weight of a feather.
Your baby looks like a tiny being, with buds that will become their arms on the 26th day and their legs on the 28th day. They have a very large head with two black dots where their eyes will appear.
The new mum
Very quickly, the first signs of pregnancy appear. Some women have a strong urge to sleep after meals, others cannot bear certain smells.
