The changes of pregnancy

2nd month

In the second month, your baby looks like a little snail wrapped around their vertebral column. Your baby will gradually develop and become more upright.

At the end of the fourth week of pregnancy, the bases of the brain, nervous system and spinal cord are in place. Blood circulation also begins and the placenta continues to develop to ensure the transfer of elements that are essential to the growth of your baby.

Your baby’s two cerebral hemispheres are now formed and their eyes, ears and mouth are gradually taking shape. The eyelids begin to appear, as does the outline of the nose. The limbs begin to grow, although they are still only rough shapes. Your baby’s skin is very thin. Their head is still leaning forward, onto their chest.

Your baby’s first organs are constructed gradually: the digestive tract and breathing apparatus form, and the sexual glands appear. The external sexual organs are not yet formed. You will have to wait until the 20th week to find out the sex of your baby.

At the end of two months, your little being measures around 3 cm and weighs 10 g. They lose their snail-like appearance and become straighter, and their head begins to take shape.

Take care of yourself

By the 6th week, your uterus is the size of a mandarin. The changes in your body are more and more noticeable. You might experience minor problems such as fatigue, heavy legs or stomach troubles...

To relieve tired legs, use Mustela 9 Months Instant Comfort Legs. Apply by massaging your knees and ankles gently, making the most of this moment of relaxation!
