9th month: waiting for D-Day!
The embryo becomes a foetus as they now have all the organs they need to develop: they now measure 5,5 cm from head to toe and weigh around 10 g.
Their face is becoming more defined, and their arms and legs are starting to grow: their main organs are all in place.
Although their limbs have grown, they are not yet long enough to touch the walls of your uterus. That is why you can’t feel them moving. Your little being can now lift up their head, which is still much larger than the rest of their body.
From one week to the next, your baby’s weight gain is impressive: by the 12th week of pregnancy, they weighs 65 g and measures 12 cm.
Less sickness
For your part, your blood volume is increasing, which quickens your heartbeat. You may easily become out of breath.
From the 10th week, your need to urinate will become less frequent, as the uterus begins to rise in the abdominal cavity, lessening the pressure on your bladder. Your morning sickness will begin to disappear.
