The ideal amount of weight gained is about 12 kg at the end of pregnancy*; weight gain will be greater in the second half of your pregnancy.
As a guideline, it is generally** recommended that you consume:
• 2150 kCal/day during the first 3 months of pregnancy.
• 2250 kCal/day until giving birth.
• 2500 kCal/day if you are breastfeeding.
• If you so wish, you can weigh yourself once or twice a month to monitor your weight gain.
