Breastfeeding has multiple benefits for both you and your baby.
Breastfeeding plays a beneficial role in your baby’s health
Breast milk is known to prevent risks of infection (respiratory infections, diarrhoea) thanks to its natural richness in protective factors and the stimulation it provides to the child’s immune system*.
Some studies have even suggested that it can prevent allergies, particularly food intolerances, due to the baby being less exposed to allergic factors during the first few months of their life.
Breastfeeding also helps to reduce the risk of obesity.
For yourself, in addition to the health benefits
Breastfeeding also has an emotional role and a practical impact on your daily life.
It also helps you to form a bond with your baby and gives you a feeling of well-being (breastfeeding triggers the release of a hormone that encourages this feeling of relaxation).
Finally, breastfeeding is a solution that is simple, as you can offer your breast to your baby immediately, and economical, as you do not need to spend money on anything (apart from a breast pump if you want to, and nipple cream).
