UVA, UVB: beware of the sun!

Consequences of the sun’s rays on the skin

Children’s skin has a memory and the damage caused by the sun during childhood is irreversible and cumulative and is very often revealed in adulthood.

Immediate, painful sunburn is not the only consequence of excessive exposure to UV rays. Over the years, excessive sun exposure and repeated sunburn cause accelerated ageing of the skin, weaken the immune defences and, in certain cases, give rise to skin cancer and cataracts that may lead to blindness.

Thus, in terms of the skin, the sun can cause damage on the surface (sunburn, etc.) and deep down (impairment of the cells of the epidermis and the skin defence cells).

It is thus important to keep sun exposure to a minimum and to best protect the epidermis of children and babies with high protection products specifically formulated for them. It is recommended to use mineral screens for babies or anyone allergic to chemical filters and organo-mineral screens for children.

By protecting your child against the sun, you are helping to considerably reduce the risks of developing skin cancer.
