Some advice for your baby’s cleansing routine

Cleansing is essential to your baby’s hygiene. It is also a special moment of deep bonding between you and your child. Discover how to make this tête-à-tête a moment of pleasure and serenity.

For a baby, cleansing is a real revelation for the senses, a discovery of the world.

For you, it is not only a physical necessity but also an expression of maternal love.

Cleansing must be done extremely gently with a suitable product so as not to impair the cutaneous barrier and respect your baby’s delicate skin.

Get into the habit of always washing your hands before starting the cleansing routine.

• The eyes

Start by cleansing the eyes: moisten some cotton wool with physiological serum and gently wipe it over the eyelids and the corners of the eyes. Change the cotton wool before washing the other eye.

• The ears

Make a small spool (avoid cotton buds, which may be irritant or even harmful) by rolling a piece of cotton wool between your fingers. Only clean the external auricle to prevent plugs of cerumen from forming.

• The nose

Use a strip of cotton wool soaked in physiological serum and gently clean the nostril. Change the cotton wool to wash the other nostril.

• The face

Wash the face as many times as needed during the day. Preferably choose a cleansing fluid that does not require rinsing or a cleansing lotion on cotton wool that rinses off with water for cleansing. Repeat this step until your baby’s skin is perfectly clean. A piece of advice: don’t forget to wash behind the ears.

• The hair

Style your baby’s hair with a soft brush “specially for babies” and pour a little eau de soin or refreshing cleansing water over their delicate scalp so that they have a “delicious baby smell”.

• The nails

Cut your baby’s nails regularly with a pair of round-tipped scissors. Our advice: choose a calm moment, hold your baby against you and only cut the part of the nail that is too long.

• Diaper change

Cleanse extremely thoroughly, especially in the folds where maceration may lead to irritation. You can use special diaper wipes, a no-rinse cleansing fluid or a cleansing milk. Remember to gently dry the skin and protect this sensitive area well with suitable products.

• The umbilical cord

Disinfect it every day to prevent any risk of infection, soaking a sterile compress in antiseptic. Then dry carefully with a clean compress.

• The hands

When out for a walk, at tea time, in the car, etc., cleanse their hands with cleansing and refreshing wipes.

• Sweet smelling

Spray a few drops of the alcohol-free eau de soin specially for babies onto their clothes or scalp. Your baby will associate its pleasant scent with the idea of pleasure and will thus develop their sense of smell.
