At the heart of its R and D Centre, Laboratoires Expanscience carries out applied research consisting in transforming technological, scientific and competitive watch activities into ideas and then into products, which are generally patented.
Centred around six laboratories, the strength of Expanscience’s research rests on two major areas of expertise:
• a perfect understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development of connective tissue (cartilage, gums and dermis) and the cutaneous barrier;
• plant chemistry, in particular lipids and peptides, with the selection of plants with a high activity potential, the identification and extraction of molecules, and the production of pharmaceutical and cosmetic active ingredients and new foodstuffs.
An expert in the field, Laboratoires Expanscience was notably the first global producer of avocado soy unsaponifiables, which are anti-arthrosic pharmaceutical active ingredients.
