Originating from the Sichuan region in China, our five-flavor berry, more commonly known as the schisandra berry, is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine. From organic schisandra berries, we extract an active ingredient with soothing and anti-redness properties, which can be found in our skin care products for very sensitive skin.

Schisandra is a climbing vine that grows wild, without the use of pesticides or fertilizers, in the temperate forests of southwestern China. Resembling a small currant, this rare fruit thrives in a region with an exceptional climate.
Extracting our organic schisandra, step by step

These clusters of fruit are traditionally harvested by hand or with hand shears by the people living in the surrounding villages, providing livelihoods for several hundred people.

The berries are dried in the sun in China, in the area where they are harvested.

The berries are then ground, powdered and extracted by enzymatic hydrolysis in France.
